James Posey didn't spend too much time defending Vince Carter as the Nets star was in the midst of scoring 51 points against the Heat, in AmericanAirlines Arena, on Dec. 23.

詹姆斯˙波西（James Posey）在12月23號在美利堅航空體育館（AmericanAirlines Arena，AAA）對上籃網的比賽，籃網球星阿卡拿下51分的比賽中，，並沒有花很多時間防守他

That didn't mean Posey was OK with Carter matching a career high against his team.

但這可不表示波西對於阿卡在他和他隊友面前拿下生最高分已經不介意了

''It bothered me,'' Posey said. ``He's a heck of a player, but that doesn't sit too well.''

Posey and his teammates have a chance to redeem themselves today against the Nets at Continental Airlines Arena. And given the Heat's recent success in limiting high-scoring perimeter players, the team now seems better prepared for its meeting with Carter.

On Dec. 23, the Heat's second meeting with New Jersey, Dwyane Wade and Gary Payton primarily were responsible for defending Carter, and the athletic, 6-6 swingman took advantage by posting up his smaller defenders and getting to the free-throw line 24 times. Carter also got out in transition, as the Nets scored 16 fast-break points.

One adjustment the Heat likely will make is using Posey as the primary defender against Carter. The Heat's small forward was mostly responsible for limiting Cleveland's LeBron James to 29 points on 29 shot attempts Thursday and forcing Houston's Tracy McGrady to shoot 37 times for his 37 points Sunday.

Right now I'm more comfortable guarding the guys that bring the physical nature to me, then I'm able to be physical also.''

Regardless of who winds up on Carter, every Heat player will pay extra attention to him, ready to block Carter's path to the basket when necessary. He might draw more attention than James did Thursday.

''When Vince is in it, the other guys don't stretch you like Cleveland can stretch you,'' Riley said.
